Question Title: Alternate Dispute Resolution

Objective of the Discussion

The prime objective of this discussion is to understand the concept of ADR.

Learning Outcomes

After attempting this activity students will be able to understand the role of ADR in conflict resolution.

THE STATE

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is a process of resolving disputes without litigation. The most famous ADR methods are negotiation mediation, arbitration, and conciliation. The owner of two of the clothing stores in a market quarreled on a parking issue and the matter becomes very intense. In current circumstances, neither they want to sit together nor agreeing on any condition to resolve the parking issue. The market committee members intervened to resolve the issue. The committee members settled the matter between the disputed parties. Both parties agreed on the judgment of market committee members.

Point of Discussion (POD)

Being a student of Conflict Management subject, in this situation, which one of the ADR methods will be a suitable option for Market Committee members to resolve the matter?  Also, you have to discuss three advantages of the method. (2 marks for correct method and 1 mark for each advantage) 

Answer:
After reading the above scenerio, I am selecting Mediation, ADP Method that fulfill the requirements. It's advantages are as follows 
  • Matter settle down with both parties agrees.
  • No litigation.
  • Third party involves for solving matter in a proper manner
