Scenerio:
The three major forces which are rapidly affecting today’s organizations include globalization, information technology, and managerial innovation. These changes are a constant threat to any organization however, at the same time they also serve as a source of continuous change. Suppose an FMCG company is operating in the local market for the last fifteen years, however, the outbreak of COVID-19 and deteriorating economic conditions have compelled the company to undertake necessary developmental changes required for its survival. The management has decided to implement Lewin’s change model in the organization. 
Point of Discussion:
Keeping in view the above scenario and being an OD practitioner, how would you apply Lewin’s change model in the current situation? Discuss logically and provide appropriate reasoning?
Answer:
(OD) practitioner help us in applying Lewin’s change model in the current situation of organization. Lewin’s change model consists of three stages that are as follows:
Unfreeze: In this stage willing people to change by acknowledging them the need of change. This need may be arising due to poor financial condition, worrying customer satisfaction or change in technology.
Movement: In this stage we implement change. It involves peoples to do new things and the actual change is implemented.
Refreezing: In this stage peoples accept change as a part of life and establish new relationships. At this stage organization must rewarded recognized and provided positive reinforcements to accepting change.
The solid reasons that are as follows:
  • Organization needs survival and it’s the demand of time.
  • It will also improve organization performance.
  • Organization will also learn from past experiences
  • This movement will encourage them for facing future challenges.
