Internet of Things (loT) is getting popular day by day, which triggers its adoption for solving domain specific problems. Urban areas are getting brilliant by social event the setting information through sensors and controlling specific parameters through actuators. Students are required to select either RISC-V or ARMI Instruction Set Architectures for IoT devices keeping in view their cost, power consumption, and market share. Justify your selection with logical reasoning in either case:

Solution

RISC-V is an open standard instruction Set Architectures supported Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) principal. RISC-V ISA is little, fast, and low-power.
I select the RISC-V over the ARM as RISC-V have objective advantage over ARM is that the RISC-V’s instruction set is open source; you'll just use it as you would like without paying royalties. RISC-V instruction set were open and available to be used to all or any, therefore, the value of software is reduced by permitting to reuse it. Market leaders within the SOC design will certainly develop RISC-V-based SOCs, because it increases their buying power by having some alternative to ARM. ARM is losing market share in IP market while RISC-V doesn’t show up within the rankings but this might be because the company’s private and it’s not public.
Summing from above, in my view RISC-V will play a dominant role within the IoT industry thanks to open source, low computing power and gaining the share within the market.

BEST OF LUCK
